Dr. John Anastasatos was born in NYC. At the age of 7 he moved to Athens, Greece where he finished the famed Athens College High School with Honors. He was honored by the Greek government for academic achievement. He received a full academic scholarship for Brown University and completed his undergraduate education in 3 years with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. He then went on to Brown University Medical School immediately after that and graduated with Honors at age 25.Dr. Anastasatos then moved to NYC and trained in General Surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian (Columbia University). From NYC he went to Birmingham, Alabama where he trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham under world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Louis Vasconez. He also completed a fellowship in hand surgery, upper extremity and microsurgery. He completed his training in the summer of 2002. He became board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in November of 2003. Dr. Anastasatos served as a clinical instructor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham until May of 2003. Then he was appointed Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at UAB until October of 2005. At that capacity he was responsible for the teaching of medical students and  surgery residents interested in becoming plastic surgeons. He served as Attending Surgeon at the UAB hospitals as well The Children's Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital taking care of the war veterans.  His practice included cosmetic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, breast reconstruction, abdominal wall reconstruction, burn, trauma and cancer reconstruction. Dr.Anastasatos also specialized in post-gastric bypass surgery. Since November of 2005 Dr. John Anastasatos has been in private practice in Beverly Hills, California and Orange County, California specializing in cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts, abdomen and body. He also specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive revision surgery and post-gastric bypass surgery. His state of the art practice includes endoscopic surgery of the forehead and face, endoscopic surgery of the breasts, minimal incision breast lift and augmentation and modern type abdominoplasty. He was a clinical investigator for the silicone-filled breast implants. In addition he uses implants for buttock augmentation, calf augmentation, pectoral augmentation and facial augmentation. Dr. Anastasatos is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
